Some need-to-knows that didn’t make it to the board (because I’m too lazy to add them, and honestly, creating that image was a pain in the a**):
Each one of the newsletters you’ll be receiving from me will consist of two parts.
Within books one to four of the main story, I talk about ‘The age that shaped me (and us)’, which is nothing more than a very long afterword of how the age I grew up in basically shaped me to eventually start writing this series all those years ago. Each one of these newsletters, therefore, simply put, is an expansion of each of those afterwords in the books. (All the above will not be in any of the future newsletters. Keep in mind, however, that things can always change.) The age that shapes me (and us) The 10% serious stuff ↓ In ‘The age that shapes me (and us)’, I will give you an update on the ‘Welcome & Goodbye, Earth’ series as a whole. That means that I will not only tell you about books 5, 6, and several others that I’m currently working on, but I will also update you about each one of the side projects that I am working on. Stories, be they novellas or short stories, that all fit into the ‘Welcome & Goodbye, Earth’ universe. And that, my dear subscriber, is basically it! If you’re thinking, “I’m only interested in the writing process and nothing else,” then congratulations, you’ve already read all the important stuff about the progress I’m making on my Welcome & Goodbye, Earth series. However, if you’re even a little bit curious about the author, that’s me, Benjamin Wuyts, I encourage you to read on. You’ll get to know who I am as Lundiana Jones, what I get up to in life, and all the little quirks that go into these newsletters. The 90% fun starts here ↓ Because not only will I update you concerning my writing, but also about my everyday life. Things I’ve done, things I’ve seen, writers I’ve met, travels, my friends, my enemies, and what I call my ‘Frienemies of the Ben’ series. You will learn more about a mischievous dog called Luna. (Lundiana Jones. Get it?) Luna is a 14 kg mix between a Border Collie and a Romanian Shepherd that is constantly trying to create a wedge between my wife and me. I will tell you about her comings and goings, some of her history, how her master plan for world domination is progressing, and all about the dogs, cats and other creatures she enlists to do exactly that.
You will also be able to actively participate by answering the question at the very bottom of this newsletter. Each newsletter will include a question related to the preview of the next issue’s story. I will share any suggestions you send me completely anonymously. So, if you would like to participate, you can send your suggestions, and any questions or ideas you may have, by replying directly to this newsletter or by using the contact form on my website. The age that shaped me (and us) Whilst part one will be an update for the days and weeks in between newsletters, part two will be more about those past experiences from the time before those newsletters that ‘moulded’ me into who I am today. Travels, people I’ve met, things I’ve seen and so on. As part of this series, I will slowly be introducing you to what I call ‘The Board’. Because, just like a certain character in my books, I, too, have been collecting memorabilia over the many years, ranging from movie tickets, plane tickets, etc., each of them telling a story. With every newsletter, I will select one item on the board and simply tell you its story. And then there are, of course, the ‘stories that didn’t make the board’, of which I have little things here and there that are simply too big or of which I have no memorabilia at all. Those, too, will be shared in time.
